Coal Pipeline Could Save Up To 54 Billion In Transport Costs
A study by A T Kearney for Continental Groups Coalstream Pipeline Co. says a 1500 mile coal slurry line from Huntington West Virginia and Shawneetown Illinois to 16 Georgia Florida plants could cut rail costs, with potential savings up to 54 billion over 20 years and up to 94 billion if eminent domain enables full construction. Dorris of Coalstream cites fixed pipeline costs and inflation resistance as key factors, noting six years to build if allowed.
