West Virginia weighs do-over on Marcellus rules
A West Virginia special joint committee will draft Marcellus share regulations this year after lawmakers failed to pass a bill in the regular session. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin signaled openness to a special session if lawmakers reach agreement. The panel, led by Sen. Doug Facemire, faces a tight timeline as districts redrawn ahead of a summer interim. Environmental and surface owners push for a voice while industry weighs in on reasonable regulation and fees.
