Pocahontas Opera House Revival Aims at Restoring Historic Venue

Pocahontas residents, led by town historian Edna Drosick and Greg Jones, are restoring the 1895 Pocahontas Opera House once a hub for Chautauqua groups, WC Fields performances, and Billy Sunday evangelism. Renovations include windows, plastering, painting, and a matching wallpaper from the 1970s restoration. About 23 to 24 thousand dollars have been spent. donations are welcome via the town hall.
