Supreme Court Rules Wiretaps Unlawful and Baseball Antitrust Stance
The Supreme Court voided the Nixon administration wiretaps without warrants, urging prior judicial approval to protect privacy. In a separate ruling, the Court upheld baseball's antitrust immunity, saying any change must come from Congress, not the judiciary. Justice Powell led the wiretap decision. Blackmun delivered the baseball ruling.

House delays Centennial Bill to fund Bicentennial plan
The House rejected quick passage of a $6.7 million bill for the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission and 10 high paid positions, 175 to 165, with rules preventing approval without a two thirds vote. The commission plans 1976 observances and faces criticism over projects and member consultation. Rep. Lawrence Williams notes 87 employees current with 21 earning over $30,000.
