Second arrest follows attempted assault in Lynchburg
In Lynchburg Virginia on June 18 John Robinson a colored man was arrested at 3 am as he fled the Vandyke League House where twenty two working girls slept after an attempted criminal assault on Mrs W S Gallier earlier Sunday. Robbery was not the motive. A mob tried to lynch Robinson in Lynchburg and again in Roanoke but police protected him and he was moved for safety. Police used strategy to keep him from mob violence and he was later sent toward Roanoke to prevent further trouble.

All But One of the Launch Victims Found
Newport News June 18 four more victims of the Minnesota launch disaster were recovered two midshipmen and two bluejackets found about a mile off Fort Wool near the sunk launch.
