Mercer man sought by state police for $40,000 scam
Mercer County man John Waller, 48, is sought by West Virginia State Police on seven felony warrants for obtaining money by false pretenses and related charges. The scam began December 2006, involving friends and business associates loaned money to fund a bucket truck purchase with promised profits. Victims in West Virginia, Virginia, and South Carolina total about $40,000 to $50,000. Waller, described as 6'1" and 180 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes, was last reported in North Carolina.
