Donors family scales lung transplant to save Jordy
Debbie Schoenadel agreed to donate part of her lungs to her 10 year old cousin Jordy Carper who has cystic fibrosis. Jordy is slated for a rare lung lobe transplant in Los Angeles after tests showed Schoenadel could be a suitable donor. The operation was delayed when another donor was rejected but early results are promising. Jordy faces a potentially one year to live without the transplant.
