A committee from the association and officials from Parke-Davis General Motors and United States Alkali met with Reconstruction Corporation, which agreed to consider loan applications for the new bank.

President Roosevelt left Boston for a two week cruise along the Atlantic coast aboard the Amberjack after a motor trip from Boston through Groton to visit his mother and two sons. He spoke in Quincy in a downpour and announced a $238 million naval construction program.
