Potatoes Offered Free for Livestock Feed in Tazewell County
A June 14 release from the Tazewell County Agricultural Conservation association announces a plentiful supply of 100 pound bags of secondary grade potatoes from the eastern Virginia producing area for livestock feeding at no cost. The U S department of agriculture ships them to counties under a demonstration plan with the Extension Service. Quantities are available by applying to the county agent.

West Virginia to host new 5 000 watt FM station
Charleston WV plans for a 5000 watt FM station serving about 15 counties were announced. Kanawha Valley Broadcasting, owner of WORY, will operate on channel 253 at 985 mesacycles. FCC grants for new FM stations awarded to Kanawha Valley and Charleston Broadcasting were reported. WCHS had no immediate FM plans. The Kanawha Valley statement hopes to have the station in operation in about 60 days.
