Greenspan reassures markets as inflation eases bets

In testimony before Congress Greenspan said near term inflation not a major worry though Fed would act if needed. Investors cheered as CPI rose 0.6 percent in May, core CPI up 0.2 percent, Dow up 0.4 percent to 10,380.43, S&P 500 at 1,132.00, Nasdaq 1,995.60 amid profit taking.

Deadline set for farm conservation grants July 9

Charleston WV July 9 marks the deadline for applying to the federal Agricultural Management Assistance program in West Virginia. TRT Holdings to buy Gold's Gym from Brockway Moran

TRT Holdings said it signed a deal to acquire Gold's Gym from Brockway Moran & Partners. The Los Angeles Times cited a sale value around 160 million dollars. CFO Terrell Philen said the Irving, Texas company plans to expand by building and purchasing new locations for its 550-store chain.
