Woman sentenced in Iaeger double murder arson case
Sheila Bailey, 46, of Crumpler, was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Booker T. Stephens for her role in the October 2014 deaths of two Iaeger men found burned in their pickup. Bailey pled guilty to accessory after the fact for murder and third degree arson, receiving five years and one to three years respectively, with no probation or alternative sentencing.

Bluefield State College to receive 1.5M ARC grant for engineering center
Bluefield State College will get a 1.5 million ARC grant to enhance its Center of Excellence in Manufacturing Engineering. Rep. Evan Jenkins announced the award as part of a 4.4 million statewide ARC package aimed at training displaced miners, expanding robotics and 3D printing programs, and boosting local jobs and industry collaboration. The project targets 250 students, 15 businesses, and about 100 new positions.

West Virginia House approves budget with no tax changes
The West Virginia House passed a 4.225 billion general revenue budget with cuts but no revenue from tax changes, amid an impasse with the Senate and Gov. Jim Justice.
