Grand Jury Opens Term Indicting Four. Two Get Probation
Federal grand jurors opened the June term of Federal Court with two defendants receiving three years on probation. Robert H. Roush of Princeton, who pled guilty to five counts of a 21 count indictment charging fraud against customers of his printing firm, was given three years probation. Ernest Clyde Stephenson of Bluefield also drew three years probation after pleading guilty to forgery of a government check. Indictments named Noble Edward Stanley of Montgomery and Bettie Lou McCoy of Lewisburg for transporting a stolen car and mailing obscene letters and pictures, respectively. Cases against C. E. Lawson Herbert R. Taylor and L. G. Martin were dropped. The grand jury resumes at 8:30 a.m. today.
