Cooperative Vacation Bible School Opens June 7
The First Presbyterian and Pirot Christian churches jointly launch a two week Daily Vacation Bible School starting Monday morning June 7 at 9 o'clock in the First Presbyterian church. Ages 6 to 16 are invited to enroll with departments led by Superintendent Rev. Jon B. Overmyar and a team including Regina Humphreys, Gibson Morrissey, Edin Ramage, and multiple department superintendents and helpers.

Dinner Meeting Highlights Southern Mission Opportunities
The Weast minister Men of the Church hosted a dinner program on extending home missions in the Southern Presbyterian church. Guy H. Lawhead discussed under privileged South groups in need of evangelism while Harry St. John Henry noted 1 772 Presbyterian churches unable to support themselves. Dr. Harry G. Steele led the program and traced church life growth in the region.

Closing exercises occur at Lerano School on 2109 Jeffataan Street at 10 30 AM. Miss Leah Knoche leads the event honoring Lorraine Leah the daughter of Mr and Mrs G T Leste with a songs and poems program. Alice Hobson provides piano solos during intermission and Little Misa Leslie performs several songs poems and recitations before a closing prayer.

Mrs Phillips Pupils Charm Recital At Ramacy Auditorium
Pupil group of Mrs J J Phillips numbering about sixty five performed a varied program at Ramacy Auditorium with help from Evangeline Donahue violin students. The concert featured orchestra pieces violin duets piano numbers guitar saxophone mandolin viola Hawaiian selections and a finale titled Little Jimmie's Special. Most players had only one year of study yet received enthusiastic audience praise. The stage was decorated with flowers and mountain foliage. Pupils from Faraday Virginia could not attend due to travel issues.
