Va graduation rules raise stakes for Class of 2008
The Virginia Board of Education approved tougher graduation requirements for the class of 2008, adding more math and science and two years of a foreign language, with all seniors in class the full day. Opting out requires alternative electives but is not advised for college-bound students. The policy takes effect July 7 after a June 6 approval.
