Delta Queen Wins Renewal From House Committee
The House Merchant Marine and Fisheries Committee unanimously approved a bill to allow the Delta Queen stern wheeler to continue carrying tourists on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. The wooden ship has been exempt from fire retardant structure rules since 1966, with the exemption set to run until November 1 1978.
