Gomes Powers Reds Sweep Royals With Three-Run Shot

Jonny Gomes homered twice driving in six as Cincinnati Reds beat Kansas City Royals 11-5. Brandon Phillips had three hits including his 8th homer, extending his 15-game hitting streak. Cueto allowed five runs over six innings snatching a four-game skid versus Royals.

Garrigus tops St Jude after third round surge

Van Dam nets 17th Bassmasters win at Kentucky Lake

Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo Michigan topped Edwin Evers by about 7 1 2 pounds to win the Bassmasters event on Kentucky Lake in Paris Tennessee. VanDam totaled 92 5 for the four day event with 21 8 on the final day. Evers was second at 85 12 and Terry Butcher finished third at 80 4.
