Princeton P-Rays Back in Mercer County Draws Big Turnout

Fans and players welcomed the Princeton Devil Rays as they return to Hunnicutt Field. Families in the adopt-a-player program anticipate a strong season with the addition of college players and familiar Appalachian League veterans. The team hosts a Meet the P-Rays event at 5 30 p m while the Orioles visit for a Saturday gathering before the season opener Monday.

Mercer grand jury indicts several in June term

Mercer County grand jury handed up indictments in June 2003. William Belcher, 55, of Kimball, charged with first degree murder in the Feb 27 death of Bernadette McCoy, 46, of Princeton. Harry West, 51, of Princeton, indicted for retaliation against a witness. Melissa Craighead, 34, of Spanishburg, indicted for escape. Rodney Roberts, 22, of Princeton, indicted for first degree arson. Ronald Beggs, 51, of Rock, indicted for malicious assault. Defendants to appear June 16.

Princeton attorney Tracy Lusk faces 11 indictments

Mercer County Grand Jury indicted Princeton attorney Tracy Lusk on 11 counts including obtaining money by false pretenses, embezzlement, and fraudulent scheme for crimes from 1998 to 2002. Det. Charles Poe and West Virginia State Bar records aided the investigation. Lusk’s law license was annulled. He could face 1 to 10 years per count if convicted.
