Proper use of car seat saves infant from injury
A Bluefield three vehicle crash left a 1 month old infant with minor injuries thanks to a correctly installed child safety seat. Paramedic Robert Youther and Kim Burnette of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program highlighted that proper installation dramatically reduces injury risk and advised buying new seats and avoiding flea market purchases. Burnette offered to replace the surviving seat for the mother, Jina Bolt, and emphasized checking manuals for compatibility.
