Residents oppose annexation plan near Wrights Valley area
About 20 residents from Wrights Valley and St. Clair's Crossing told Bluefield Town Council they do not want to join the town. They urged keeping land out and proposed a railroad as a boundary to preserve farming and access, while still allowing some revenue gains. The council postponed final action to a work session next Tuesday and a June 18 meeting, with notices to follow.
