A man and a boy were bitten by a rabid dog near Princeton on New Hope Road. Anti rabies vaccine will be given in a 14 day one a day series as county officials consider extending Bluefield’s dog and cat quarantine county wide. The dog’s head was sent to Charleston for testing and the result confirmed rabies. Bluefield police report multiple stray dogs picked up and impounded as enforcement increases.
