Mercer County Courthouse Records Report Four Deeds Probate License Suits

Four deeds were recorded and one will admitted to probate at the Mercer County Clerk's Office in Princeton. A marriage license was issued to Stanley Eugene Matherly and Patricia Ann Chernutan. Two suits were filed: Norma Jean Hickman v Edgar Hickman and Joyce Wimmer Belcher v William David Belcher.

Seven Pineville High teachers to leave at term

Seven Pineville High School teachers including principal Jesse W. Houck will depart at term’s end. James Stone becomes Glen Rogers High principal after six years in Pineville’s English department and yearbook leadership. Others leaving include Pauline Saunders, Annabelle Bowers, Darrell Messenger, Linda Messenger, Margaret Lewis, and Richard Garretson.

Planning Agency Meets At Pineville

The Wyoming County Planning Commission held its regular monthly meeting at the courthouse with J. R. Beavers as chairman. Fred Mayer of Marcou OLeary Associates presented the first phase of the Wyoming County Comprehensive Development Plan focusing on the natural environment. Projections on economy and population to 1975 were also shown and will be reviewed at the next meeting.

Grant Town West Virginia AP report says Lawrence Stone 47 of Westover near Morgantown died when the locomotive he was operating jumped the tracks at the Federal No 1 mine. He had worked there over a year.
