Virginia Egg Prices Seen Rising With Seasonal Demand
The Virginia Department of Agriculture foresees a steady rise in egg prices, with May as the peak for supply. Current rates show grade A large at 27-29 cents, medium 21-23, small 17-18, while New York reports 29-32 for large eggs. Broiler prices weaken as tariffs shrink the export market and a glut of red meat suppresses poultry values. Prices may climb by mid July due to seasonal demand, with Virginia production slightly higher than last year.
