Keystone officials: Other small town also without full-time officers
Keystone WV officials say the town has not had a full-time police force since the 1970s and note similar shortages in southern West Virginia. Burglars have struck the Council of Southern Mountains in Keystone building housing town hall and police, raising rent concerns as the agency uses most of the space. The agency serves about a thousand people yearly with utility aid, food programs, tax help, and foster grandparent programs.
