Lashmeet teacher investigation continues
The Mercer County case involves former Lashmeet Matoaka Middle School teacher Danny Perkins 48 of Kegley charged with second degree sexual assault sexual abuse by a custodian and possession of child pornography. Prosecutors say investigation ongoing with grand jury session likely in October. Accusers are five students aged 12 to 16. State police conducted searches of residence and classroom and evidence was sent to the state crime lab.

Mercer County judge accepts Wayne Wyatt Jr 29 of Bluefield for felony failure to provide support to a minor and schedules sentencing for Sept 20.
