Peter Weichsel faced a crucial decision in a tournament hand. He overcalled West with diamonds, East bid hearts, South inserted two spades, and West bid three hearts. Weichsel passed, then West's four hearts prompted a late four spades by Weichsel, giving North-South 1190 points as the declarer made two overtricks after the heart contract. Weichsel later justified the pass as a strategic misdirection that paid off.
