Millionaire McDonough offers to buy Greenbrier resort
Parkersburg West Virginia AP multi millionaire industrialist Bernard McDonough said he made Chessie System an offer to buy the Greenbrier, world famous resort at White Sulphur Springs. Chessie officials would not confirm but said previous attempts had been made and a reasonable offer would be considered. McDonough touted his Irish castle hotel and hinted the offer was substantial though he would not disclose a figure. The Greenbrier, with 600 rooms and 7000 acres, includes four golf courses and many sports facilities. Chessie declined to discuss the bid beyond willingness to consider reasonable offers.
