Sundown at Rialto shows pioneering cattle drive epic
Sundown, First National’s western drama, opened at the Rialto. Carl Hudson crafts a romance of disintegrating old west, following the last cattle owners massing herds for a trek into new country. Leads include Bessie Love and Roy Stewart with Hobart Bosworth in a complete cast. The piece contrasts with other big features in entertainment value and emotional reach. Separately, Manchester’s Victoria and Exchange Stations fuse into the world’s longest platform at 2 176 feet, and a King's Cross beam engine has operated for 120 years.
