An Epigraph notes an epidemic of whooping cough with severe coughing spells in a family. The Cure children used Chamberlin's Cough Remedy for croup and found relief and cure. The remedy is sold by A N White, Drugist, Norwood House, Norwood NY.
An ad touts Kermott's Choco sites Laxative Quinine as a quick cure for colds and sore throat. It markets the product as easily eaten candy and asserts rapid relief.

A eastbound coal train on the Pocahontas division broke apart in East End tunnel morning wreck. Engine 568 plunged down the hillside near Maybeury, while engineers Thompson and Jess and fireman Martin suffered injuries. Thompson nearly asphyxiated, Jess largely unhurt. Hood’s Sarsaparilla ad ends the report.
