Harmony Acres pool milestone marks Gail Williams 60 summers
Gail Williams has run Harmony Acres Swimming Pool in Bluefield Virginia since it opened in 1953. She spent six decades working admissions lifeguarding and teaching water safety with family involvement and community support. The pool began as a family project and evolved into a local gathering spot uniting generations and adapting from spring-fed water to city supply. Williams was honored by Bluefield officials for her dedication to the community pool and continues to oversee operations with staff Greg Quesenberry and Nick Ball.
