Drug ring busted in Mercer County three arrested
A three year probe by the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and Mercer County Sheriff's Department led to the arrest of Michael Armisted 35 of Yonkers New York Alaine McKenzie 40 of Princeton and Nicholas Edwards 24 of Princeton on charges tied to a Mercer County New York based drug distribution conspiracy. Investigators say up to 1000 dil a udid pills were moved weekly with a street value of about 6000 to 9000 dollars. The suspects are jailed on cash bonds with Edwards already under a prior arrest and bond revocation.

Virginia Tech to replace memorial with 32 engraved stones
Virginia Tech will replace the temporary campus memorials with 32 granite gray limestone stones honoring the victims of the April 16 shooting. Each 300 pound stone will bear a name, be set in an arc near the administration building, and be offered to victims’ families as an intermediate memorial until a permanent site is chosen. Construction starts immediately and should finish by August return.

Two Seriously Injured In McDowell Motorcycle Crash
Two people were seriously injured Thursday when a motorcycle struck a dog while passing a crane on Route 16 in North Welch McDowell County. The male and female riders were taken to Welch Community Hospital and the woman may be moved to Charleston Area Medical Center. The dog died in the crash and Lt. Eugene Muncey led the investigation with Welch Police Chief Richard Van Dyke.
