Bluefield Virginia expands borders to fuel growth

The Tazewell County Board of Supervisors approved a boundary adjustment allowing Bluefield to annex 600 acres of St. Clair Farm plus the Graham Recreation Park area and adjacent land along Route 720. Exclusions were made for two properties at Stoney Ridge. Immediate court petitions proceed to formalize the expansion for future commercial and residential development.

McDowell teen arrested after Bartley stabbing incident

West Virginia State Police trooper C F Kane arrested a 17 year old male suspect in Bartley early Tuesday on attempted murder and malicious wounding charges. The victim, 36 year old James Boyd Rowe of Bartley, was found with a knife in his throat and later treated at CAMC in Charleston. The suspect resides at the same Bartley address as the victim with the mother listed as guardian.
