Bluefieldboard adopts tax rule on out of town builders
Bluefield directors approved a plan making residents or contracting non resident builders responsible for city business and occupation taxes from building or repair work. The city will notify property owners with a form letter and withhold final payments until taxes are paid. The ordinance stresses personal liability for failure to withhold and will be fully enforced.

Cincinnati Man Killed In West Virginia Car Crash
A Cincinnati man died instantly when his car hit a truck near the Beckley interchange on the rain slick West Virginia Turnpike. Jack Jessee about 40 was killed. His sister Anna Haskins of Norwood Ohio was hospitalized in serious condition. The truck was driven by Lacy Griffith of Shady Spring Raleigh County. Griffith had minor injuries.

Marriage applicants are Charles David Martin with Brenda Jean Napier both of Bluefield and Roger Dale Clemons with Loretta Rae Perdue both of Princeton.
