Casa Loma Orchestra Still Leads After Twelve Years
Twelve years old last month the Casa Loma Orchestra led by Glen Gray remains at the top of the swing scene with six original members. The band formed in 1929 kept its name after a club that never opened and became a pioneering, corporation-backed dance orchestra. Their early hits like The Casa Loma Stomp and White Jazz defined a generation of swing.
