Hearing Held for Accused Negro in Deaths of Women
In Chicago on June 7 Elmer Johnson testified at the inquest into his wife’s death. Robert Nixon a Black man accused of killing Mrs Johnson and three other women plus a young girl in brutal assaults faced witnesses while Earl Hicks described events at Nixon’s apartment. Detectives said Nixon confessed to multiple murders and rapes including Florence Thompson Castle and Miss Anne Kuchta. Thomas McCall, a white man, was jailed last December for the Austin attack and may be released soon.
