Jones lifts Angels past White Sox in 10th inning homer
Ruppert Jones opened the 10th with a homer off Bob James to lift the California Angels 2-1 over the Chicago White Sox. James took the loss as Rich Dotson pitched well, and Mike Witt threw a complete game with eight strikeouts. Mark Ryal tied it with a rare outfield start and a two out homer after Greg Walker gave Chicago a 1-0 lead in the fourth. The White Sox had homered in 12 straight games, tallying 26 in that span.
