Tearing Down GIi Landmark
Former Princeton Academy students read that the large hilltop stone school building is being torn down to make way for several dwellings. The Methodist Church sold the property to a real estate firm which has split the campus into lots and sold the building. Established in 1883 as a church school in Tazewell district, it once had a strong faculty led by Prof. E. F. Witten and produced notable graduates. Decay and reduced funding led to the decision to sell and repurpose the proceeds.
