A Boston psychical group notes Rev Dr Funk cites Beecher’s ghost and mocks the idea of heavenly genius. The piece lampoons Funk’s celestial studies and hints at Tammany hall politics to entertain readers.
The invitation to Joseph W. Folk of St. Louis to speak at the wigwam Fourth of July rally mocks a political group formed for loot. Folk, famed for breaking a Missouri boodle gang, is praised as a bold anti corruption official who exposed graft and sent bribe givers to jail.

The Flat Top National Bank of Bluefield Mercer County West Virginia is authorized to commence banking by the Comptroller of the Currency William Ridgley after meeting federal statutory requirements. The certificate is dated March 16 1903 with official seal and signature.

A local sensational report from Lessville Indiana describes W H Brown nearly dying but saved by King’s New Discovery for Consumption. He says the remedy gave immediate relief from asthma and led to a complete cure. The ad touts cures for consumption pneumonia bronchitis and grip with prices 50 cents and 1.00. Trial bottles free.
Mrs Mary Crick of White Plains Kentucky credits Kodol Dyspepsia Cure with rapid relief from years of dyspepsia. She says after taking a few bottles she gained weight health and strength and can eat whatever she likes. The ad claims Kodol digests what you eat and makes the stomach sweet and urges purchase from druggists.
The notice states ice wagons start May 8 with coupon books available by calling No 20. Prices are 1000 lbs for $6 and 500 lbs for $3 cash, payable on delivery. If unsatisfied after payment, customers may return the books for an immediate refund. extension is noted.
John Oliver of Philadelphia recounts illness and recovery using Electric Bitters. He details drastic symptoms, three doctors giving up, and a dramatic turn after one bottle, claiming the product saved his life and "robbed the grave" of another victim. Available for 50 cents at drug stores.

A Bluefield citizen, N. J. Morris, describes severe kidney pain and irritation, claiming Doan's Kidney Pills from Jno. L. Crockett's drug store relieved all pain and corrected kidney secretions. Foster Milburn Co. of Buffalo sells them in the United States for 50 cents a box. Remember the name Doan's.
An advertisement touts Hester's Special Brew as the finest high grade beer available. The copy emphasizes quality and premium status aimed at discerning customers seeking top beer.
An ad for the Fadette Ovals at the Cute Studio 235 Princeton Avenue Bluefield West Virginia 28 for 35 cents. The brief promotion urges widespread appeal and lists the location and price.
The Norfolk and Western Railway offers a personally conducted trip from Blair Virginia to the Seashore leaving June 16 at 7 a.m. and returning June 19 at 9 p.m. Rates start at 4.25 dollars with east of Bedford City not stopped.
