State police report Constance Keffer, 48, of Princeton, will be charged with driving under the influence after her vehicle struck walls of the East River Mountain Tunnel on Interstate 77 and then hit a parked truck around 8:19 p.m. May 30.
Mercer County sheriff investigators are probing alleged sexual abuse of a 12-year-old boy in the Cheesy Creek area. A 50-year-old male, previously babysitting, is named as a suspect in a report filed Monday by Detective K W Reed. The incident was reported Friday. follow up by Reed is planned. No charges have been filed.
West Virginia State Police and local agencies logged a string of incidents in Mercer County and Bluefield. Among them a two vehicle crash on Camp Creek Road in Speedway injuring no one reported, several drug and license violations, thefts from Kroger and Rite Aid, vandalism, a damaged wall, and a break in at Whitethorn Elementary. Also noted were a hit and run on Thornton Avenue, a stolen van recovered in Richlands, and fireworks misreported as gunshots at an Athens apartment complex.
McDowell County Magistrate Court records list charged individuals including Robert McBryde Jr. 38 of Bradshaw for domestic assault and destruction of property with a 1000 dollar bond. Glen Coleman 21 of Davy faced domestic assault and battery with a 1000 dollar bond. Other defendants include William Burgess 20 of Welch for petit larceny with bond set, Tony Dickerson of Keystone for disorderly conduct and assault with a deadly weapon released on bond, Scottie Little 27 of Hurley for DUI third offense and related charges, Connie Sue Janney 45 of Tazewell for DUI offenses and license issues, James Blevins 57 of Davy for DUI with personal recognizance, Michael Marcus 34 of Coalwood for possession with intent to deliver DUI and driving left of center with a dismissal on May 30, and J F Kennedy of Bradshaw Police for investigative notes.
Ohio man Timothy Ray Hazelwood, 19, of Marion arrested for possession with intent to deliver after five pounds of marijuana found in a Princeton Motel room during a weekend stop. State Police said case built over six months. bond set at 5000 dollars.
