West Virginia Coaches and Talent Drain in State Sports
A reader argues that WVU and state colleges rely too much on out of state recruits and coaches. The piece urges a state hiring policy, more West Virginia coaches, and greater use of homegrown players to save taxpayer funds and strengthen local programs. It also notes Bob Bowden’s 1975 WVU football outlook as a familiar point.

Bowden notes WVU two quarterback plan and tough schedule
WVU coach Bowden says Dan Kendra and Danny Williams will share quarterback duties this spring while defending a shaky unit and kickers. He stresses a hard schedule with "every Saturday" against strong teams and positions Boston College as the King of the East on WVU's slate. Also mentions local umpires, coaches in Grundy VA, and NFL pension progress for long-tenured players.
