Mrs Robert G Gillespie spoke at the Jeffersonville Woman's club gathering hosted by Miss Anna Ward Peery with Mrs Richard Kelley Jr as co host. The Virginia native described eastern colony homes with vivid familiarity and plans for a Barter Players return were discussed.
Monday activities include the Bluefield Woman's Club closing meeting with Mrs. J. O. Bell at the West Virginian hotel and a post session tea. Garden Time airs on WHIS at 6 45, East River council gathers at Red Men's hall at 7 45, and garden club treasurers meet at 8. Tuesday features the Coalfield Mission board at Walcoe Methodist church with Mrs. J. G. Nichols presiding. Thursday lists Wesleyan Bible class at Grace Methodist and Ella Sue circle meeting at Cramwell ME church with Mrs. Bowie Kahle.
The Trinity Methodist youth fellowship will meet at Trinity church at 4 PM then travel to a cabin on Wolf Creek for a picnic retreat and council meeting hosted by Jack Thomas.
Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Franklin of Gary announce the engagement of their daughter Julia Belle Franklin to Samuel Crocker Lawrence Jr son of Mr and Mrs 8 J Lawrence of Highland Road Charleston The marriage is to be solemnized later
Miss Franklin, a Gary High School and Concord College graduate, earned recognition in Who's Who among American Colleges, Student Council, and Kappa Delta Pi. Mr Lawrence attended Harvard after St Pauls School, Concord NH. Miss Franklin now works in Charleston.
