Princeton Woman Acquitted In Armed Robbery Case
Judy Long Mitchem of Princeton was found not guilty by a Mercer County Circuit Court petit jury after a 50 minute deliberation in the December 1981 armed robbery of Hayden Williams Jr. of Blacksburg Virginia. The 20 year old defendant showed relief as verdict read by Judge John Frazier after the jury began at 6 30 p m and returned at 7 20 p m. The trial spanned two days with the state alleging an assault on Mrs. Mitchem and her husband Jack Mitchem Jr.
