Woman Sentenced For Manslaughter in Ohio Case
Mrs. James Lou Pitts, 47, of Wintersville, pleaded guilty to a reduced manslaughter charge and received 120 years in prison for the January shooting death of George Raymond Carney, 30, of Wintersville, in Steubenville. The case, tried before Jefferson County Common Pleas Judge John J. Griesinger, saw juror disqualifications totaling 75 since Wednesday.

Camp Lightfoot Opens 32nd Season for Eastern Coal Families
Camp Lightfoot starts its 32nd season June 14 along the Greenbrier River near Hinton. Children of Eastern Associated Coal Corp. workers, ages up to 15, attend in two week sessions with swimming boating riflery archery fishing and nightly council fires. About 800 children are expected across four camps with supervision by EACC Camps Inc. and staff including Carl Mack and Robert Brown.
