Banks Targeted Along Tug Valley See Repeated Robberies
Authorities note Pike County Kentucky and nearby areas along the Kentucky West Virginia border have long faced frequent bank robberies. In fiscal 1987 Louisville Covington and Pike County reported high robbery counts with Turner Hatfield attributing the pattern to isolation geography and cross state escape routes. The latest theft underlines a regional trend with small cash hauls and swift cross state flight, while officials cite the McCoy gang involvement and rapid pursuit across state lines.
