Acordia Anthem merge agreement reached
Acordia Inc and Anthem Inc announced a merger plan by which Anthem will acquire all outstanding Acordia shares at $40 each. A tender offer for the remaining 33.2 percent will begin by June 6, with completion by cash merger at $40 per share. Anthem notes ongoing discussions about selling Acordia's brokerage unit but says the tender is not contingent on it.
