Army Proposes Water Projects for Appalachian Region
The Army proposes a 2.3 billion package of Appalachian water projects for 13 states. A key recommendation would fund 16.7 million to halt acid mine drainage in the Clairon River Basin Pennsylvania. It urges Congress to adopt the plan as a basis for regional water resources development with a priority system due to funding limits. A 3600 foot airstrip is planned for Pipestem resort West Virginia, completion 1972.
