Court upholds INS asylum ruling in Elian Gonzalez case
An 11th Circuit panel ruled INS acted within reason by allowing only Elian Gonzalez's father to apply for asylum, denying an asylum hearing for the six year old. The ruling delays departure to Cuba and gives Miami relatives two weeks to seek further appeal while Elian urged family to end the fight.
