Chamber Leader Urges Daily Effort to Grow Bluefield
Basil Jackson, president of the Bluefield Chamber of Commerce, told Kiwanis members the chamber recruited 122 new members during the Community Investment campaign and urged all members to work together to solve city problems. He praised local officials, noted coal as the economic base, and promoted the September Coal Rally at the Sheraton Inn and Bluefield Country Club. Also attending were Baltimore Orioles farm director Tom Giordano and manager John Hart, with a board meeting scheduled Saturday morning.
