Mercer County Taxpayers Form Watchdog Group At Zoning Meeting

More than 100 residents attended the gathering at Glenwood Park in Mercer County where a new county wide Mercer County Taxpayers Association was organized. Officers were elected and 3 delegates from each of five districts appointed to attend Planning Commission meetings and report back. The group aims to monitor zoning and pursue county wide projects while keeping meetings open to the public.

Hensley Addresses Bramwell Kiwanis Club Dinner

Col. Robert W. Hensley of Bluefield spoke at Bramwell Kiwanis Club’s Monday dinner in the Presbyterian Church education building. The retired Air Force member and current attorney discussed servicemen loyalty in World War I and II, Korea, Vietnam, and other conflicts.
