May 27 grades school commencement program included processional, remarks, and address by Mr Ferguson.

Dr Witten vaccinated 50 children for smallpox sponsored by the community league. Teachers Miss Ruth Hill, Nola Warner, Dolly Fern will teach again next season. Mr and Mrs M F Aldern of Bluefield spent Sunday with Mrs W B Steele and Dr Rex Steele. they were married in Tazewell by Rev T A Repase. Mrs Lyte Marche and daughter Evelyn Smith of Portsmouth visited Claude Mercer, Walter Thomas, and old friends. Mrs Hallie McGee visiting Max Meadows and Pulaski. Mr and Mrs Henry Johnson of Draper and Mrs Dan Gerald and son Dick of Williamson were guests of Mr and Mrs H Tayer. Miss Alma Riley and Mrs Jess Woods are in Williams hospital after appendix operations. Sara Aebury is out after illness. William Altizer, a Burk’s Garden graduate. The community moves to raise funds to repair the Church of God. Mrs W B Steele, active thirty-four years ago, asked to solicit funds. Send funds to Mrs Steele.
