Rebels May Face Attack Over Ziaur Rahman Death
Calcutta AP. Bangladesh authorities in Dacca warned Sunday they would attack army rebels who assassinated President Ziaur Rahman if they fail to surrender. Rebels reportedly control Chittagong, the country’s navy hub, with unclear strength. Zia and eight aides were shot at government house in Chittagong. Manzur, commander of the 24th division, announced the purge of top officers and claimed navy backing. Dacca said treaties would be honored despite the revolt, as deserters pledged loyalty to the central government.

Frenzied Four flop at British club in bridge misplay
In an amusing note from the International Popular Bridge column by F M Hargreave, South mishandles a six notrump idea and a spade sequence leads to a missed slam. The tale recalls a miscount and misreads as East awkwardly deflects hearts while West and dummy juggle diamonds and clubs.
